This record is excellent. Lots of great grooves and some of the bass playing is downright tasty.
Don't let the single "F*@! You!" fool you - this is a great piece of work.
Anyone know who the bassist(s) is?

I included this cd into regular rotation at work, we sold tons of copies after doing so.

| | | | Unfortunately, very little popular music these days uses acoustic sounds - by that, I mean not purely electronic, in the sense that not all the parts are played on synthesizer. This album features amazing instrumentals. The bass lines are SICK, there's no doubt. An awesome album to play along to. The keyboard parts, the guitar, the percussion, and the horns are all great. Brings you back to the old R&B days.
That may seem ironic, as I'm only 18, but the soul of music from the last generation, you can rarely match it. I think Cee Lo and the band really did a great job getting that feel back. It's a fantastic album.
"I Want You", "Cry Baby", and "Wildflower" I think are the highlights of the album. |

Anyone know who played bass on that particular song?

where he comes from- goodie mob, and gnarls barkley. both hip, and creative. lady killer was cheese, mass-produced sounding, and lame. especially coming from someone who (to me atleast) came from the "real deal and hip" side of things.
just my oppinion. i guess ill listen again if you guys all seem to dig it so much. |
