Cel Phone Recording

While I don't expect studio quality, how can I (or can I?) get a decent video (sound wise) of me playing a track on my cell phone video/audio recorder? The bass is distorting the mic on my android. Thanks in advance.

if your phone's built-in mic can't handle a bass by itself, there isn't much you can do for the mic.

I would shoot video with the phone and record with something else at the same time, then sync the two in post production on some video editing software. Even windows live movie maker is good enough for that!

Turn down. Or stick the bass in a beanie or something like that. We get pretty good results recording stuff for woodshedding purposes with a beanie over it.

you mean the cel? Not sure my bass would fit in a beanie
