Cheap but GOOD interface.

I've asked this one time before on these forums and got a few responses back. One of which was the Line 6 Ux1. Bad Idea. It was cheap, but it also sounds cheap. I can get a good sounding tone out of it, but once I edit the video the tone goes to crap. What are some interfaces around $100-$200 that work awesome. Maybe one of you have one for sale?

When posting these type questions it's best to list these:

1. Computer you will use- Mac or PC
2. How many inputs desired on interface
3. Budget
4. FireWire, USB, or PCI card?

In your case most interfaces in your budget range are going to be USB 1.1 or 2.0
Mackie black jack. 2 channels USB 1.1
Buts does not play well with some windows platforms. If your on a PC research it first. If on a Mac no worries.
sample rate is only 44.1 or 48k but a great simple rig. Decent preamps and converters for $150.

Sorry about that -

Using a PC, i'm only in need of two channels. One for vox, one for bass. I record lesson videos on youtube, and in the middle of the lessons I have to switch from the quarter inch input to the xlr input. My budget is anywhere from $100-$200. Preferably a USB.

Actually, after researching a bit, PCI would be a good option. Any reccomendations?

If the tone is fine until you port it to your video editor, it seems the problem lies in the video editor and not the UX1. I've been using a UX1 for years with good results.

Do you use a specific video editor? I was thinking about premier, but i've never used it before. Are you using pod farm with your UX1? Do you mind if I ask you about the tones you are using if you ARE using podfarM?

I use the old GearBox software. Mine's from before PodFarm was available. I generally record direct w/ the amp & cab off. Every once in a while I'll use the American Punk setting, but not super often. I've never ported it to a video editor though. I record to Reaper and render mp3s & wavs. Maybe others will chime in w/ video editors that will work with the UX1?

^^^^^ THIS^^^^^^

Well for me it"s a UX2, but it sounds like your problem lies elsewhere. Is your audio on the video editing program properly configured? It sounds like that is where the trouble lies.

Well i'm using Windows Movie Maker, so theres not much room for configuration of audio. Btw, I realize now that this post should be in recording SOFTWARE, and not just "recording." My apologies. F-Clef-Jeff - do you use a video editing software?
