so heres my band, Diatribe. We play metal and thats about it. We did this recording all in 3 weeks. We spent 1 day mastering it and were rushed so the cymbals are wicked high and for whatever reason my brother, who was mixing it all, decided he liked it when the vocals are completely saturated in reverb. Unfourtanatly we lost all the recording so we have to start again from scratch so we have a couple more songs were working on finishing then were just gunna do a full out album. Let me know what you guys think, any critique are welcome. thanks alot, peace.

I liked it and this type of metal isn't really my type of music. I think you need to balance the music a bit more... a little less guitar (a teeny-weeny bit) and raise drums and bass... plus raise the vocals.
But really good for a demo. Did you get in a studio?

| | | | nah, we didnt go into a studio. It was all done in one month in my drummer basement. We took 1 day to master and mix. So i mean its pretty good for what we got i think. Were going to go back and re-record with some more songs so im lookin forward to that. Thanks for the input. I like your band its pretty chill, i usually dont like female singers in a band context, but it works well with the ska-ish style you guys got goin. PEACE |

You speak truth about the cymbals, theys a-sizzlin' all over the mix. Gotta unass that a bit. Otherwise TURN UP THE BASS! oh, no wait, that what I always do on this end... EXCELLENT product for a basement !
Yo tumpin', man, dont diss female leads. I play behind one, and, she makes the show. Some tunes she just oozes out; its a thing of rare beauty.
Peace. Out.

| I really liked you guys, with quality recording you guys would sound great.
It came off fresh to me, I'm not a metal head, but I enjoyed. The music & instrumentation was creative, dynamic and your singing screams, moans & growls in key!
You guys sound tight as well.

| | | | muchas gracias seniores
i was never good at spanish anyways. Thanks for checkin it out. Were planning on re-recording for a full length album - all by ourselves again! ha o man, its gunna be fine though, we will spend much more time paying attention to details in the mastering process. The thing was that my bro did that mastering in 1 day so we could press it for a show we were playing, as a result he kinda lost his high range and cranked up the treb. At any rate, we are waiting on a computer so once we get that all built we will be ready to go with about 12 songs. So ill keep you guys posted. |

| | | | Wow, you did that in a basement? I'm impressed with the quality. What did you use to record? |

| | | | we used a firepod presonus and for mic's we have some CAD's an SM57. Beta57, akg condenser, a ****** drum set micing kit, and thats it basically. Then just good mic placement and lots of bass traps. I wish i took pics of the drum booth we made, it was like a vault layer of foam HA. So ya, thanks | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
