Hey hey TB,
One from the vault here, and I would like you fine people to have a listen and tell me what you think. This is my band's 'agony' song, the one which is kinda cool but just can't seem to find a place in the live set, or on record.
Don't know what's going to happen to it eventually, but I thought I'd give you all a listen before it disappears into the ether
Throw some critique my way, if you feel so obliged. I always love that The Format - Idiom

| | | I like the song but your bass sounds thuddy. Do you like it that way? I love you g**tarists sound though (shame, shame!!)
You singer needs to be a little louder (not his singing but his volume), but he reminds me of Maynard which is a good thing . |

G.A.I.J Bassist, I recently ripped a few off of our first demo (which are very interesting listens if you're familiar with our band; but you're er, probably not if you don't live in Australia) and I'll be putting them up on the little Soundclick.com thing I have going. Due to copyright and all of that tawdry stuff, no album tracks Or it's my oily hide.
Ozzymate, yes the mix isn't exactly top-notch. I seem to recall that I was slinging a bass in the studio that day that I really didn't know how to handle (a Warwick Corvette 5 on loan), whereas my usual ax is a Spector Euro 5 (greatest recording utility ever! IMO). I'm still searching for the perfect tone, and have probably sounded pretty much like _everything_ over the past few years. The cosmic struggle goes on!

Besides, We all know Brendan is a closet APC fan.
Eitherway, I can see how the format is pretty popular in Aus, you've got a good, complete, and listen-able sound. I can dig it.
I don't think it sounds all that like APC though, more like a rockier incubus.

That said, I dug their 2nd album way more.
but this isn't about APC, this is about the format, Australia's hottest up and coming heart throb chode wallopers...so back to that...

Let me straighten out. AllegroNonMolto, whilst I appreciate your vehemency in defense of a perceived wrong (reminds me so much of myself as a lad), I haveta say that I was not insulted by Brendan's remark nor do I think that he meant it to be insulting anyway. What irked me is that he made a ridiculous throwaway quip and that was that - a bit of a waste of time. I'd much rather hear what he thinks, and I'm sure the fact that he thinks we're a blatant APC ripoff can't be all that struck him about our track?
Keep it coming. I am adding new songs daily, so if you feel like it, listen to those too, even though the focus of this thread is (allegedly) 'Idiom'.

Peace,
