Normally I wouldn't do this but I'm pretty proud of what we've done here. This is my new Alt Country band Love Dog. We recorded this in my garage over the course of two weeks. It's had mild mixing and mastering by the guy who recorded it. We got a little loose in a couple spots but I'm pretty happy none the less. Take a listen and tell me what you think!

All comments are welcome good or bad. We've got a pretty good following around here and suggestions for better quality are welcomed!

Definitely more b/g vox. In "Sticks and Stones", thick, suspended b/gs would sound great.

You and the drummer are tight! Either you've mapped every part out or you two have played together for a long time!

Your singer is pitchy. Sounds like he doesn't have complete support/control in his mid-section. He sounds more comfortable and stronger in his higher register, it sounds great!

We agree everywhere. More background in Sticks and Stones would have been great. We ran out of time and money. We did the whole thing for $350.00. The singer has gotten multitudes better and is making it a point to be better. He was VERY nervous. I have complete faith in him. There is a different singer on Why should I care, in the event you hadn't noticed. We have three lead vocalists. Two are featured on this disc. The drummer and I had only played together for two months. We just clicked. Sad to say when the disk was done he moved on. He is more of a punk drummer and felt we were holding him back. No matter we remain friends and his new project is moving along. I already hired a new drummer and lost him as well. I think he freaked a little cuz he couldn't lock in with me as well and was really struggling. No matter we'll find another. We've been together 6 months and had 3 drummers. ***. Thanks for listening. It's nice to have objective listeners. Everyone around here says it's great but they are all family and friends.

I'm really digging the music. Solid rhythm section. Mix seems to be pretty decent. Vocal sits out front. Not much in the way of backing vocals. I would consider re-tracking the vocals. Vocals aren't bad, but as previously mentioned a bit pitchy. Was your singer nervous during the tracking?

Very Nervous. First time he's recorded like this. Rerecording isn't an option right now. We would have liked a couple more goes on it as well as some background vox but alas this is the final version of this product. We'll be even better next time around.

I'll look into mediafire, never heard of it.

Thanks,

H

P.S. I should also mention this was all recorded in my garage with a portable recording setup for $350.00.

Bump for some new critique. Maybe this will get some response this time around.
