my band bought a website yesterday www.hourglassmusic.com
no pics of me on there yet, everythgin is still being developed, but there is an audio clip of one of our songs...check it out...we are getting a lot of local gigs all of a sudden at nice clubs and possible radio play as a result of this song and our demo, so im psyched! leave me some feedback, an enjoy!

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | thanks a lot tony. if you geta chance...9pm at the van dyke this saturday in schenectady, and the 27th we are playing at northern lights with the brian kaplan band and morozik's(from the edge) band as well. should eb fun...we are "headlining" aka...playing 3rd and should go on at 10:30 or so...peace,

we've also got some in's with WEQX so that could be fun.
ina month or so we'll probabaly start hitting the albany bar/club scene a bit more...the bayou, jillian's, etc...

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | i wasnt playing on the recording..im pretty sure the old bass player used a spector rebop and a pbass...im guessing it is the spector on the recording. i think it sounds sinificantly better now...but maybe im being a little biased....im planning on getting my deposit to martin this month, and he said to expect 2-3 months for completion. cant wait!

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | as for my current setup, ive thinned the heard down to 2 fender jazzes , a fretted anda fretless, for gigging purposes, i figured this was an easy and awesome way to go for gigging in regards to gigging and such tonallay and in regards to playability i couldnt be ahppier right now...but that custom is goign to be my baby...as i say again and again, i cant wait! i was using a 6 string tobias for awhile, and i dug the tone and look as well as the playability...despite it being a wide neck 6er, but goign back to 4 string jazz's has made em really happy, as well as my left hand when playing the first position!

Going even from my 6 string roscoe to this 5 string Skjold made my hand feel so much better! |

this si also why i didnt want people to judge the bass playing, but the song and sound as a whole...if i was in there i would be more than happy to hear bass comments:-P

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | yeah...the jump down form 6 is a nice relief. i love the high c though for chordal stuff and muted plucking. im stil unsure if i want to alter my custom order to a 34 inch scale regular 5 or keep it 33 and with the high c...ill probabaly stick to the high c. i use low b's rarely. plus if i really need a low b...lakland 55-02's have been catchign my eye a lot lately....gasserific stuff! anyone outside of the capital district have any comments?

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | hey mike, yeah i heard about the forclosure. we were playign at the gelnville saloon last ngiht and the owner there said that if it is shut down it wont be for a few months as such things ahve a tendency to be drawn out. so we might get a couple gigs in befor eit closes, if it does. the northern lights show is what im looking forward to most. it is on ticketmaster.com, but tickets that we sell go to our band only, so if anyone in the area is interested, pm me. 10 bucks a head. thanks for the comments tony and mike.

But the mix is a little funny; the rhythm section and vocals are very well balanced but the guitar could stand to be a little more up front (good god, I never thought I would say that). But overall the tune is really good writing. Best of luck to y'all.

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: New York | | | thanks f-cleff...the guitar really drives the song live....my line sort of follows it while working to push it at the same time now, hopefully we will be doing some more recording this spring/early summer if we can fitit in with gigging/possible short tour schedules. things are really picking up for us all of a sudden, and i couldnt be more excited! gotta go do a soundcheck for tonights gig right now actually, peace.
