I just heard "Christmas Wrapping" from The Waitresses for the first time this year. I had forgot what a great bass groove that songs has. For those of you not familiar with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUOxmXPo69w
Anybody else have a Christmas tune with a great bass line? |

Anybody else have a Christmas tune with a great bass line? | I just heard this song last night and had to find out who played on it. Great, tastey, groove.

Could not find a full version. HERE is a sample of it.

| | | | Solo URB (doubletracked)-
Christian McBride- "Doubledecker (Deck The Halls)"
...very cool. It was on a Verve Christmas Jazz disc.
Some Fusion-esque Christmas-
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"- Chick Corea Elektric Band (John Patitucci)
...1st GRP Xmas Collection from the late '80s.
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"- Take 6 w/ The Yellowjackets (Jimmy Haslip)
...He Is Christmas- Take 6
There also the Flecktones' Christmas album, Jingle All The Way, from last year.
If you want an uptempo version of "Sleigh Ride"...look no further.

| | | | I'll be home for christmas has alot of sweet jazz chords in it, I dont think throwing down a good bass line in there wouldnt take to much imagination.

I didn't really like Christmas music until I heard this song. I played this with my high school jazz ensemble for our Christmas concert maybe 2 years ago.
