My sister was playing this little ditty on piano, and I thought, "Hey, this would sound really hawt on my bass." So I recorded it. Tell me what you think.

And since it's getting close to that season, what the hey, Merry Christmas!

And if you want to know what the chords are, just ask.

EDIT: Well, it won't attach (too big apparently,) so you can check it out on MySpace.

Hi,
Listened and heard a guitar player on bass my man.Nice as it was,it did not represent a piece of music played on a bass guitar by a bassist.Bass to me means deep notes, not high register chordal work.Keep it low, bro.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Yes I know it's up high, but those chords down low sound atrocious. It's just a solo bass noodlely piece.

So the bass player playing a song on his bass "did not represent a piece of music played on a bass guitar by a bassist"? Sorry, but that statement is pure BS. Prefering low notes is fine, but thinking that bass is meant to stay low and non-chordal shows a real lack of knowledge about the instrument and what music has historically been played on it. Like it or not, you heard a bass player playing a bass. Cope with it.

As for the recording, it's a very special song to me, so I like any attempt at playing it. It was very rough though, and the playing of it needs quite a bit of cleaning up and better timing. Keep at it!

BTW, get rid of that jukebox on your MySpace page if you want your music tracks to be heard- they both start simultaneously

Hey,I offered my opinion on a piece of bass playing and I did not ask for comments which fall below the belt. Please do not be condescending or attempt to bully me into agreeing with you.

"Like it or not, you heard a bass player playing a bass. Cope with it."

Mr.Policeman,I know I was listening to a bass player and I don't need you to tell me to 'cope with it'.Ok?

"Sorry, but that statement is pure BS."

That statement is not 'BS'...is my opinion and I suggest that you respect any opinion that is forwarded to this forum...as it suggests ...TalkBass.
Now please take my points onboard.

You're right- it is TalkBass. A place where bassists come to talk. Yet it somehow evades you that the music this particular bassist played on his bass guitar is music played on a bass guitar by a bassist You can have your opinions all you want. He is a bassist and the music he played was every bit representative of a bassist playing music on a bass because THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS. That is fact- your opinion means nothing against it. To deny it is BS.

Oh, and if you knew you were listening to a bass player, then you wouldn't have said "Listened and heard a guitar player." Either you're lying now or you were lying then. Looks a lot more like you're covering your tracks now.
