Classic Bass Lines..Heres Mine..Whats Yours

I know this thread has happened before or one like it, but mainly for bass playing from respected artisans and superstars but today I listened again to Nikita by Elton John and the bass line absolutely blew me away. The timing on it is unreal,especially towards the end of the track in the instrumental break.
Does anybody know who played it.?
Anybody have favourites like that from 'non famous' bass players that are worth looking up and listening to.
