Clatter CD preorder...win a Waterstone bass!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey bassers,

I just thought you might like to know we've FINALLY finished the new CD and we're accepting preorders! The best part about that is that Waterstone Guitars have kindly given us one of their Lulu basses to give away to one lucky preorderer! (Is that a word?!)

Also, we have some limited-edition organic cotton t-shirts that we're selling for only five bucks to the first 50 people who order them!

You can hear samples of all the songs and place an order at our web site, www.clatter.com. If you want to hear four full songs, including our cover of "Limelight," check out our MySpace page!

If nothing else, let me know what you think of the new tunes! I'm debuting my 12-stringers on 5 of 'em.

You know, there's a secret surprise on the new CD that involves a certain Mr. J. Ad. Well, okay, I guess it's not secret, but it's worth it to buy the CD just for that!!!

Amy & Joe kick major ass...the stuff I've heard off the new record is a huge step forward from their excellent debut CD. I've ordered.

No way, another bass and drums duo project? Who are these guys? Sweet! I will investigate further.

Amy, if you guys play anywhere in the area and need a "second" bassist for some of the tunes ("Limelight" comes to mind) you know exactly who to drop a line to. A few questions:

1. Any chance you can drop me a line and let me know if my preorder made the "50 order cutoff". Not as if I'm not looking greatly forward to the CD, but the chance at a new bass never hurt. Another one.

2. Has the bass been "donated" by Waterstone already, or will the winner have the chance to pick the color and fretted or fretlessness of the bass. The idea of picking a fretless, adding a J-pup, and modding out my own Tony Franklin-esque fretless Precision intrigues me.

3. You've stated you played a Lulu on the new album - can you give us some insight into it's tone? Is it a true semi-hollowbody or is the f-hole decoration? If so, how does it effect the tone of a P-bass?

I can tell you a little bit about the lulu - I've got one. It's got a very punchy and hot passive P pickup on it. It's not a true semi-hollow - the f-hole is pretty much a decorative rout...but it's a very solid and nice-looking instrument. The neck has a nice satin finsh - feels similar to a Lakland to me.
Out of the box it was set up well - there are a few frets that would benefit from some additional side filing but overall a great bass for the price.
