Clutch -Blast Tyrant

Anybody else into this album? Clutch rules, this alum is no exception. -this is real rock and roll kids. I like this record for the same reasons I like SMASH's band Stoke and groups like the Fireball Ministry. Arse kicking rock where the attitude comes from the playing and not from wearing pants that are too tight.

Clutch is awesome!

I'm generally not a big rock guy, but these guys are totally awesome.

I don't know what albums I've heard though, since it's always been at friend's houses or in their cars. ("who's this?" "clutch" "sweet" )

but yeah, great band.

I really love the self-titled CD, and I have Pure Rock Fury being shipped here now. Haven't heard anything from Blast Tyrant, but I'll check it out.

I've been a Clutch fan for years, and this disc kicks ass! I love the way "The Regulator" sounds, with that sitting on the porch in some southern bayou sippin on the moonshine feel to it. "Wysiwyg" is a jammin tune too. The whole disc rocks.

I've seen these guy's live a bunch of times, and have a blast (pardon the pun) every time I see them.

Clutch is one of the 'hugest'-sounding bands I know of.

Is that a word?
You know what I mean...

Clutch is the greatest band ever! I have yet to hear anyone groove like JP and Dan...I saw them live a little while back with Bakerton Group (Basically Clutch minus Neil) opening and 2 sets of Clutch, it was the most amazing show i have ever seen...nothing will top those 3 hours of my life. In my opinion Clutch is the pinnacle of what music, especially rock, should be.

Cool. I bet you'd like SMASH's band.

I think my new favorite song is, Ghost

The Leather Soles go shuffling in
Stinking of smoke and ten cent gin
But who will toast our noble host
who has this morning given up the Ghost

The Wooden Coffers/ Hand to Hand
Kind words are offered/ Silent Prayers
But she is satisfied the most
when staring blankly at the ghost.

The rib of Adam
The eyes of Eve
The sons of Cain recieve no reprieve

I just bought their self-titled disc today and I dig that one as well. I think am going to see them in a few weeks in New Orleans.

There's another Clutch album you guys can might not know about called "A Slow Hole To China" which I'm enjoying as much as Blast Tyrants. It was done the year previous but not widely released.

I think my fave Clutch overall is still the self-titled 2nd full length. I think Blast Tyrants is up there among their best stuff too though. Blast Tyrants ... should have been a Napalm album title, IMO.

Blisshead, thanks for the kind words in re: STOKE. Always much appreciated.
No problem.

A slow hole to China? I'll have to look for it, thanks for the heads up.

Yeah slow hole to china, is a bunch of songs that were unreleaed from the Elephant riders and Pure Rock fury sessions. You wont find it in stores anywhere, i think you have to order it form the website www.pro-rock.com.

here is the track listing:

Slow Hole To China
Nickel Dime
Sea of Destruction
Oregon
Easy Breeze
Four Lourds (and one more)
Rising Son
Guild of Mute Assassins
Willie Nelson
Equinox
Hoodoo Operator
Day of the Jackalope

Also check out Live at the Googleplex, it showcases clutch at their best doing live shows. Have any of you guys heard the re- release of Jam Room, it has three new tracks on it Drifter, I send Pictures, and the original version of Sink'em Low? JUst got it in the mail a few days ago, the 3 new tracks make that album that much better.
