I think it’s the evolution. I think we’ve always been unafraid to change things up. We decided to bring the band back to a more basic format, and consequently, the tunes became more focused. I think there’s a lot more emphasis on the guitars this time around, which is a good thing. We’ll probably use those elements, keyboards and harmonicas and whatever else, in the future, it’s always fun to experiment. I think that each record is the response to the last thing we recorded, and it’s always unintentional. There’s no meeting where we say ‘we’re going to strip this one down and sound like AC/DC.’ More than anything, it’s just whatever music we’re listening to at the time, what everybody’s moods are, the bands we’ve been on tour with, and one way or another, all of those things go towards influencing what the next sound is going to be. | Track Listing:
1. Motherless Child
2. Struck Down
3. Unstoppable Watts
4. Abraham Lincoln
5. Minotaur
6. Amazing Kreskin
7. Witchdoctor
8. Let a Poor Man Be
9. Freakonomics
10. Algo Ha Cambiado
11. Sleestak Lightnin
I got it pre-ordered, so I'm pretty stoked on this one. |

Did not really like it at first but after a few listens this album is quite good. I like it more than Beale St. and possibly better than Robot Hive. Sonically it is a lot closer to Robot Hive and Blast Tyrant than Beale St. all in all it is undeniable Clutch. They some how keep churning out new material, keep it fresh and not sound repetitive.
On a side note, the bass on this album is quite aggressive. Its quite loud in the mix and the tone is really in your face, which we really have not heard since the Elephant Rider days.
Can't wait to pick up the official release on the 7th. |

As a matter of fact my friends are going to the House of Blues in Atlantic City nj to see them 7-3-09. Monster Magnet was supposed to open up for them but canceled. I have a gig so i cant go! bummer. Cant wait to hear new stuff!

I saw them at a small club here in the Springs last year, and they kicked serious ass. Bass was loud in your face and quite good as well. All in all a killer show. Even when someone killed the power out back and they had to arrest him. I've been hooked on these guys since. I can't wait till they come out to Colorado again. |

I've been kicking myself for it for the past few months. I don't know what took me so long, but I never really listened to Beale St. until about 6 months ago. Since then, I've probably listened to it every other day. That VERY quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time.

It just did not translate on the recordings. Child of the City live is a hundred time better than what came out on the final product.
I can't really pick a favorite album, but the one that really sticks out as far as being a really cohesive piece of work is Blast Tyrant. The songs just flow from one to the other so perfectly, and there are no weak points at all through out the whole thing. |
