My band's debut album is almost finished. It should be in our hands next week.

We recorded and mixed everything our self.

Mastering, layout and band pics were done by others.

Check out our completely renewed website and myspace:

http://www.codasync.com
http://www.myspace.com/codasync

You can check out the entire album on this myspace and website, with our website offering far superior audio quality (256 kbps).

Let me know what you think.

We also have a facebook page, so you can become a fan of ours!

Thumbs up

I checked it out.

Something I am not familiar with, but I listened to all the tracks.

My overall thoughts:

The Good:
Instrumental, which to me means instant .
I can't quite place the genre. My guess your band's influences are fusion, surf rock, progressive, a bit of new age (especially on the song harold greets arnold), a bit of funk, and a tinsy bit of alternative.
Or I can be wrong as always.
(Please define the genre you guys play Vorago.)

Two songs I liked the most: rostislav grovgast and count spiro returns.
rostislav grovgast had some nice "mexican" thing going on around 5:40.
I liked the entire song.
count spiro returns had at points some Tool sound going on by the guitarists.

I also liked harold greets arnold.
Especially the intro, some spacy new age vibe. Overall the song is amazing, and seems the most mature song of the bunch. In my opinion.

Guitarists are great, they are constantly in the spotlight. And they choose some interesting sound to get their riffs and melodies across.
Vorago on bass: he's got some serious FUNK in his fingers.
Although not that much heard in the mix.
As bassist I (like I think most people on TB) I try to focus on the bass, but most of the times the guitars got my attention.

The Bad:
No offense to the drummer, his playing is allright, but the drumtracks aren't perfect on the recordings.
The sound is sometimes a bit to spacious and the beats get a bit lost in the mix.
The drums should cut through more, let the listener feel the vibe. It will add a more "exotic" element to the overall sensation.
I am nittypicking here, and my opinions are what they are: opinions.

Bass should be brought more to the foreground from time to time.

Also, it was a bit to "trebly" for me.
But that's me personal, I like darker music that's deeper. (It's a case of: "the genre isn't quite my cup of tea.")

And one last thing, I'm going to be harsh:
aka joe houttequiet was boring. IMO
(sorry)

The Ugly:
Vorago is from Antwerp.

All in all:
I liked this.
Instrumental music is my thing, I would definatly enjoy listening to it again.
Although it's nothing like any music in my current collection this music can be an aquired taste. It definatly sounded like you guys know what you are doing, and are all great musicians.

No problem at all.

I can go a lot more extensive, but I refrain from that since I'm not that much qualified to judge music other people work so hard on.

I'll try to make it to your gig on the 15th.
I can't promise I can come, a lot of "disturbing elements" are holding me back these days. (read: girlfriend, family and work.)

But I sure want to hear how you guys sound live, when I can hear the drums and the bass better.

Wow! Cool stuff Vorago! It reminds me a lot of the Mars Volta. I would love to get this on a CD or something. Give me a PM when you guys have CD's, please. I really like this stuff.

Cool stuff, didn't have time to listen through everything, but I definitely dig it. I hear Tera Melos, Battles, Isis, Pelican, 65daysofstatic from what I had time to check out... am I right?

I will listen later when I'm on a computer with better speakers. My laptop just does nothing justice.

Been listening to it a lot the last couple of days, its really not the sort of stuff I listen to, but its not bad, some great playing by all of you.

I dunno what to say other than that, I'll listen to it more, try to get a better take on it.
