Any Comets on Fire fans here?

This album is phenomenal. I just got it today and I'm totally blown away. I have their previous album "Blue Cathedral" which is good, but a challenging listen at times do to it's over-the-top trippyness. Avatar however, is miles ahead IMO. While there's still a ehco-laced psychedelic feel to it, they seem much more focused on epic songwriting. Avatar is chock-full of brilliant musical moments and an extremely interesting listen. I highly recommend it!

I found a few links with an mp3 of the opening track:

Sub Pop link, mp3 takes forever to load:

Some other site, loads quickly:

Only heard the older stuff, I'm going to have to check this out later.

Any fans of insane psych garage rock weirdness, check these dudes out if you haven't.

I haven't given it a thorough listen through, but to be honest I was a little disappointed. I fell in love with them when I reviewed the reissue of their first album for my school's radio station. All that crazy fuzzed out, echoplex insanity...it sounded like Guitar Wolf on a bad acid trip.

Since then, they've turned down a little bit, and I still think their great. But I haven't been blown away by them like I was that first time. Avatar sounds more like old-school psychedelia; like early Pink Floyd with fewer zips and pops coming from all directions. Maybe I'm judging to quickly...I'll give it a few spins later today.
