Does anyone knows a simple sound recorder for computer, so I can record my bass playings and create multiple layers aswell, not to complicated . It would be nice to make some songs on the computer (atleast its worth a try I think).
Thanks.

Get a Line6 Guitarport, for around 100 bucks you can make your bass sound like just about anything you want and it comes with software.

www.tellhazelrun.com "Always" I used it to even record the drums.

Apple's Garage band is just plain easy to use and unlimited number of tracks. Just push record and away you go.

It's all visual, Drag & drop, copy & paste or just real time recording. Has lots of built in effects as well.

Easy enough my son was able to use it within about a half an hour. You also need a USB interface

ok thanks, garageband is only for the Mac I assume? Line6 Guitarport is nice, but i got my Digitech bp80 between the comp and my bass, so that will do for a while thanks again.

edit: audacity works fine for me!, very nice thanks

I prefer garageband to audacity, but if ur on a PC you'll have to go with audacity. You dont "need" a usb interface, just pickup a 1/4" to 1/8" converter and run straight into the sound card. It sounds good enough to practice on, especially if you have a preamp (sansamp or something).
