Hey TB'ers,

This is my first post on TB, so please be gentle ;-) I was 16 when I started playing guitar (now I'm 29). I've played in some bands, nothing special, did a few shows. Approximately a year ago I started in a band as a singer, but they also didn't have a bass player yet. So I filled the spot. I haven't regretted since, it's like I really found the right instrument for me. And I think it's kinda cool to be bassist/singer, you don't see that alot. Anyway, since I've only been playing bass for a year, I'm looking to improve any way I can. Could you guys check out some of our songs on
http://limbolink.hbvl.be/convoy and suggest improvements on my bass playing or share your thoughts for the music in general?

Greets from Belgium

Julio

I'm on smallband right now so I can't listen to your band, but here's a free bump for a fellow Belgian

Where are you from btw?

Welcome Julio. Please visit the General Instructional forum and read the sticky posts.

I only listened to the first song. For some reason it reminded me of spinal tap.

Thx Jmac for the tip. I'm gonna dig in rightaway.

And thx Julien for the positive feedback.

I'm amazed at how quick I'm getting a response on here. And glad I started posting after a whole while of just lurking...

Welkom op TB Julio.
Ik ben van Dilsen.

Not bad at all your band.
I really like the singing. Kinda like James Hetfield. Well it reminds me of that.

Your bass playing is very good, nothing bad to say about. But in my honest opinion the sound engineering is a bit off.
It's lacking some punch.

But that is nittypicking.

Awesome stuff.

Yeah, I've heard the Hetfield reference before. Metallica is still one of my favorite bands and they're the ones responsible for me becoming a musician in the first place.

Wait, are you the singer too?

If so, very good man.

Your singing and playing are good. I could hear a bit of Hetfield in there. I'm not from Belgium but I love the beer.
