First, mods, that's the name of the band so don't penalize me.
Second, everything about this kills it in the best way: bass, guitar, drums. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbIvoYyzm8k

I can definitly see how a distorted bass fits nicely into music like that. that being said, something turns me off about the distortion he had, though. I'm just not diggin the way that disto sounds compared to other distorted tones I've heard. |

Actually works alright in this song because the guitar is fairly sparse, but would probably get lost in the mix with more guitar...

By the way, can you also play country music without wearing cowboy hats? |

pxlbrmpf - no, the hats are part of the required uniform. And for a big country concert, all the show goers dress up in boots and hats.
Guess you have to smell leather when C/W is played! Anyway, I like red boots on the gals!

The vocalist was a big turn off (I can honestly say I don't like this band), I can tolerate a lot of country singing... but you have to have something interesting to say, and I think if this guy had some gravel in his voice, it would be an awesome match to some distorted bass.

These guys are all incredible musicians with amazing careers, but being from the same hometown, they decided to do this project in their free time. Let them have some fun w/o ripping them a new one. So the guy liked that fuzz - I don't care for it, and wouldn't use that particular tone, but no need to bust his balls about it. And Val McCallum has not padded his VERY impressive resume by being a vocalist. He's a guitar player first and foremost, and he does that VERY well. So what if he doesn't have a "country" voice, he's doing what he wants, and is doing it very well.
That said, I dig this, and after checking out their website, will be ordering a CD or two. Thanks for the contribution, JimS.
