| hi
i just watched the brown eyed girl one because thats the one i know.
ok, well first of all you're doing well for only playing for a month and a half! keep it up..
but you wanted some constructive criticism, so here goes.. first of all.. lose the pick. there are times when a pick will stylistically suit the genre - van morrison isn't one of those times. The other thing that really stood out to me was the lack of "flow" of the bassline. try concentrating on making the notes flow into each other - the line isn't staccato as you were playing it. try playing each note for it's full rhythmic value.
Technique wise i would say to concentrate on playing with a 3 finger per fret, like a double bass fingering, in the lower positions. that is, first fret - index finger, second fret - middle finger, third fret - ring and pinky. this shape can then move around in the lower positions.. If you look around in technique forum i assume you'll probably find some info on this there - maybe try searching "simandl". The way your little finger falls off the edge of the finger board really isn't good. invest some time on your left hand technique now, and you will be very grateful in years to come!
Your time wasn't too bad. pretty good for a beginner really. but there were still a few moments. you can never spend too much time with a metronome!
thats about all i've got. keep it up and good luck!
