Better With Age is a 70's/80's/90's cover band from Raleigh, NC. We've been goofing around for a while and we think are ready to start getting out there. Our new drummer (as of 1st of 2011) has a home studio out a few miles beyond Slings**t Asia in the boonies..... he invited us up and we did 5 tracks. Your critique and comments are very welcome - positives and negatives (though please give ways to improve).
I think this will get you to the tracks:

A few comments from me 1st:
I used my trusty LPB SX Jazz bass direct into his board. He then ran thru amp sim software - I know at one point he was playing with Ampeg models, but don't know what he picked in the end.
One guitarist went from his multi-effect unit into the board directly. I assume amp sim was applied. The other guitarist was running thru a tiny little fender amp, not sure which, mic'ed with an SM57 I think. The drummer has a whole isolation room set up for his drums. So while we were doing rough tracks we couldn't see him.... The little bass solo in Hot Legs pushes too fast pretty badly... not proud of that.
Which brings up my main critique of myself. I'm ever so slightly (maybe more than slightly) off the pocket in a number of points. Hey, I'm not above admitting I do suck (LOL) but I think not being able to see the drummer hindered me a little too.
Back to the guitarists. I'm an ex guitarist. I know guitarists dial up the distortion in response to the tiniest of stimuli... most believe there's much more distortion going on in a song than there really is. I think my guitarists would have been better served to go much cleaner and simulate in the distortion they needed.... I tried to tell them I don't think you can sim distortion OUT... they didn't listen.
Last point. Yes I played on Vertigo. I don't know where I went in the mix.
Oh yeah... singer. She rocks.
