Has anyone picked this up? For any of you who don't know, its a large compilation of Cream songs along with a second disc of live preformances.

The second disc is definitaly worth checking out, for any of you Jack Bruce fans.

At this point there have been more Cream reissues than original LPs. I bought all the LPs back in the day (even bought both the USA and UK versions of Fresh Cream as they have different tracks) .

Let's see, original LPs:

Fresh Cream (USA and UK)
Disraeli Gears
Wheels of Fire
Goodbye
Live I & II

Comps:

Best of Cream (LP)
Heavy Cream
Off The Top
Strange Brew
Very Best of Cream (CD)
Those Were The Days
Gold
I Feel Free: Ultimate Cream
Millenium Edition

I actually wore out some of my LPs...I'm on my third copy of Disraeli Gears

When my son (currently a 23-year-old rock bassist) was around 2 years old, we'd put him to bed, and put on Disraeli Gears. To this day, he gets sleepy when he hears "Sunshine of Your Love."

The all-inclusive 4-disc box set, "Those Were the Days", is really the way to go, except that the live version of "NSU" isn't the great one from "Live Cream", and is inferior, IMHO. I haven't heard the live "NSU" on "Gold" yet, but I think it may be the good one. It's one of their best live performances, I think.
Anyway, "Gold" seems like a very good compilation, if you don't want to spend the cash on "Those Were the Days."
