Sign in to disble this ad
Hello!
Ive made a record of me playing a bass cover of the song sunshine of your love.
Im gonna show it to the class. But i will be playing live of course.
It's for a musical presentation of your own instrument, dance, or song.
Please give me some feedback as fast as possible. Since the presentation will be tomorrow.
Have been learning it and practicing it in 2 days. Thats reason so late :S

I play it differently, I start the riff on the G string.

at :52 you use your pinky on the for the Am chord - the weakest finger shouldn't be trusted with that much pressure. I use the open A when I play it, just to make it as powerful as I can.
then
at 1:21 Your Pinky goes out (probably from all that extra work You just did).
one more
at 1:59 you play the lead rhythm - Don't. Just pound the down beats rather than the shuffle/roll of the song.

Good song to choose. hope it helps.

just curious of what the objective is for showing this, and for what type of class.

You use your pinky way too much, it's uncomfortable just to watch. Instead of sliding your pinky around like you do on the main riff from fret to fret, leave one finger per fret. You'll be better off for it in the long run.

It looked like you were trying to prove something with how much pinky you use. It's noble, Bu tas TIM C mention - painful to watch

Okay, I fully agree he's kinda "pinky wild"... but one could argue that's building strength where many beginning players really struggle with the pinky...

that said, this just isn't how you play the song.

For the I chord, you sit with the on the 5th fret and start with the high E on the G string and hold your hand right there (no movement) until you get to the IV chord... Start with your ring finger and only use the pinky on the high G on the A string.

does that make sense?
