Critique my band! (warning: contains vocal screams and very distorted guitars)

you will find a song called Everest demo that will be on a CD we’re releasing this fall.

I’m curious to know how others will perceive this song. Feedback, positive or negative or neutral, would be greatly appreciated.

Is that a metalzone distortion pedal? Thought the disto sounded pretty crappy, kind of like the guitar player was trying to make it sound heavier, but all it really does is make everything more muddy.

I couldn't really feel much of a groove, not sure why though. Maybe its because of the seething distortion that I could barely make out the guitar lines.

The bass is good, though

Thanks for the reply. I think they used a metalzone on the three old songs, but those were recorded before I was in the band, so I don't know for sure. The guitars on Everest (the new song) were recorded direct in with a Line 6 pod thingy or something.
