Critique My Demo, Part II: UPS Demo

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy once again,

Welcome to Part II of a series of threads dedicated to letting you listen to and critique some demos my band Robots from the Future have been working on. In case you missed the last one, here's a brief explanation: I've posted demos of some of our new stuff on the band's website, and for each thread I want to hear your comments on the specific song I mention. Feel free to critique our other stuff too, but I'd prefer each thread to be about a single song.

For this critique, please direct your eager ears to the track called "UPS Demo", listed under the "Miscellaneous" album on the site:

http://www.robotsfromthefuturemusic.com/music.html

Here are some notes to consider while you listen to the track:

-Drums haven't been added yet
-Lyrics are being written for it
-The entire second half of the song still needs drums, synths and bass (I opted not to write a bassline to this part until drums and synths are added)

So, what do you think? Do you like the bassline? What do you like and dislike about the song? What suggestions do you have for us?

I like it. I'd track the guitar twice to mimic the stereo ping-ponging of the synths for the first half. Second half I'm not too sure what I'd do with. Maybe leave the drums out... or continue drums through the transition and then light percussion to the end. I find myself wanting the and of two to be accented more...
