Critique my mix and song please? :)

So Im in a band, but we are sort of barely starting out. We have about two albums of original music, but we havnt played a gig because we were just kids jamming after school. (We are all just out of high school and are going to start taking it seriously.) However, I took an interest in producing audio and I'm wondering if you guys can critique my song and its production? It should be titled "Counterpoint."
On another note, Im wondering if I should go to school for Audio Production because I like it just as much as playing bass.... if not more. I just don't know if its profitable or if Im even good enough. Any advice?

It's a little mushy sounding, and the "reeerr" noises that are piped in every so often sound too piped in. I dont know a whole lot about Metal or its sub-categories. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Yes, it is a little mushy sounding. I noticed that right away once I listened to it on other speakers. I guess acoustic treatment would be a sound investment. Can you elaborate on the noises you are talking about?

I am curious what the mix would be like with no bass at all. When the guitar goes away I BARELY hear the bass... I am listening with headphones where I can usually hear bass just fine. Everything else sounds great, just can't really hear the bass.
