I'm currently playing in a prog rock band and I wanted to know what ya'll think of my bass tone on this track. It's our first song to get mixed/mastered. Let me know what you guys think of it. http://soundcloud.com/josh-rickert/f...l-second-guess
Thanks for the feedback! |

The singing could use a lot of work here though.

1) The bass tone seems (to me) to be a bit dark for the song
2) Vocals on the front end seem pitchy and off time
3) Is it me or does the drummer seem to drift during the front half of the song?
Overall you guys sound great and I'd like to hear more from you. Again, these are just MY opinions.
Good job!

We have been working on getting the vocals and drums to be tighter and more on time since we recorded this back in June, but I'm glad that you're noticing the same hiccups that we were.
That's a good point with the mids adjustment. I'm really not as EQ savy as I should be for how long I've been playing. |

We tried at one point, but the heavier section is in 5/8 while the majority of the song is in 3/4 so the click track just got distracting. |
