"Crocodile Rock" bass demo

Crocodile Rock is quintessential Dee Murray. He can still teach us all a thing or two or three about 1970's bass playing, making a great yet simple tune interesting from start to finish. I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing him and Nigel Olsson in 1968.

As always, use headphones.

I always enjoy your clips. The drummer's name is Nigel Olsson and Dee's last name is Murray

I have to say that you have one of my favorite tones out of all youtube videos I've seen. That P bass with mudbucker and flats really sounds beautiful.

What kind of flats are on that bass? and how long have they been on there?

You ought to cover a 'The Band' tune sometime!

Thats a nice thing to read first thing in the morning...Thanks. I'm not using the humbucker on any of these tunes except when I demo it. I'm using DR Highbeams flats that are about a year old and I'm not changing them! I'm using a SWR head with a 1X15 cab.

I'll check "The Band". I also have more Murray tunes ready to be uploaded in the next couple of weeks.

Great playing, man! I would have preferred to hear it with that Lakland, though.

Crocodile Rock has a great bassline and you covered it well, that's for sure! Good work!
