The cure with a Bass VI?

Sign in to disble this ad
Which albums does the Cure use a Bass VI on? Not whole albums but only specific songs? Which are those? Which album(s) to start with?

I bought my first cure album "Seventeen seconds" two weeks ago and i think i'm ready for my second now

I'm pretty sure that lead guitar on "Pictures of You" off of Disintergration is a Bass IV with chorus on it.

the bass VI is the Fender baritone guitar

Robert and Simon used the baritone in so many songs, anyway especially in the Disintegration album, you can here it in some solos and dubling some bass lines.

I'm always happy when a new Cure's fun grow up....

So Disintegration is the only album with a Bass VI?

I'm pretty sure you can hear one in "Lullaby" (the little melody that is repeated throughout the song) and at the beginning of "Just like Heaven" (it joins in after the first four bars which are bass/drums only). There's probably countless others but I'm not really a Cure expert.

The melody at the beginning of "Inbetween Days" might be one too.

I'd suggest getting a live Cure dvd or video to see which songs it's used on-

Show
Trilogy (Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers albums played in their entirety)

the intro of "to wish impossible things" on the Wish album is Robert & Perry Bamonte both playing Bass VI's.

Nope. As we all know a baritone guitar is tuned A-A or B-B, the BassVI is a 6-string bass tuned E-E.
