DAIKAIJU!!!!!

I'm not sure how many have or haven't heard of Daikaiju around here, but I wanted to introduce those who haven't heard of them, and remind those who have. they're a really great surf rock band from around here that managed to get a bit of fame in the underground world of surf rock.

Daikaiju - The Trouble With Those Mothra Girls - YouTube

Daikaiju - YouTube - youtube playlist of Daikaiju

daikaiju.net - their website. has music from the new album streaming on it.

great stuff!

YEP! too awesome, right? they totally play it up, and wear personally designed kabuki style masks when they play, too.

I dig the whole hostile animosity that surf bands have, fun and scarry at the same time. Used to do some shows with a band that dressed like Mexican wrestlers, monsybilic answers and all.

I just saw that post. that's awesome. haha! I'm actually starting a prog surf band called Black Dynamite. it should be pretty neat. I've got two songs written, and I've got a full band together already...just gonna get the material written, then practice, then playing. should be pretty damn nifty.

Yes, Daikaiju kicks ass! I am proud to say that these guys are from my hometown and are unbelievable performers! Nice guys too! I'm so happy for them that they are starting to get some recognition. They have been doing their thing for a few years now, and have toured all over. I know it's cliché, but they really are kind of big in Japan. If you have the opportunity to see them live in the future, do it! You will not be dissappointed.

Just discovered this. Wow! Awesome! I just finished tracking a surfy/punky record with a new band, Crazy Aces, here in Nashville! We're definitely gonna be listening to this stuff! Nice.

Mixing our record this week. Quick iPhone clip of us mixing my Eastwood Sidejack BassVI plugged into a 5 watt Supro amp.
