Well, I know this is a genre and I know two bands who kinda fit the bill: !!! and Gang of Four.

More bands like this plz.

Fun stuff... often political, but not too much to ruin the vibe. !!!'s latest release was pretty Krautrock influenced. But what are some dance punk bands?

LIFTER PULLER!! In a very dark, scary sense of the world. Great grooves, disturbing drug-addled imagery.

Also; Bloc Party, ESG, Konk, The Fall, Liquid Liquid, Trans Am, Swell Maps, TV on the Radio, and the Go! Team.

Also, !!! has a sister band called OutHud that has a lot of the same members but has a more dub-instrumental feel.

Strangely enough, they claim it can be any three one syllable noise... pft pft pft, bz bz bz... etc. But nobody does that, their name is commonly pronouced "Chk Chk Chk" Chick Chick Chick.
