Dark Hall with Steve DiGiorgio

Sign in to disble this ad
Who on this forum has listened to Dark Hall (a jazz fusion band including the incomparable fretless metal virtuoso, Steve DiGiorgio (of Death, Sadus, Control Denied, Quo Vadis, Vintersorg, Dragonlord, Iced Earth, etc.)?

If you haven't, their tracks are free...to get them, go here (and select "Music"):

http://www.darkhall.tk/

or go directly here:

I must say I'm blown away by Steve's chops and the rest of this ensemble. What a great set of five songs!! What do you folks think?

Dark Hall is a lot of fun. Good stuff, too bad Steve's too busy to continue in it. Great bassist, great guy in general.

All I listened to was changing weather... actually made me chuckle a bit. That horn riff and tapped bass riff are kind of cheesy together. Love his wah sound on it.

On the basis of one track, not sure if I want to go any further. It seems just a strange showcase for his bass talent. It's Mr Bungley at times, but still, I think it's cheesy. Maybe I listen to the rest later.

Hi Matt,

I was hoping you and the rest of the prog metal crew would join the thread. I liked "Changing Weather", but I can see how it might come off as cheesy....check out the other tracks...they are sufficiently different from one another to be worth listening to (at least once). Let us know what you think.

Yeah Till, I totally hear ya on the cheesiness factor. For some reason, that's part of what makes DH really fun for me.

Steve Digiorgio at his best. The wah-ish solo is incredibe. Shame that they didn't continue. Love his work with Sadus

Interesting stuff. He's definately got a unique voice on the bass, not to mention some killer chops.
