My new favorite band of the week! Anyone else into them? It's Jack White's new band. They're like a cross between The White Stripes and The Kills. I've never really been a fan of female singers, but this is different. Some awesome fuzzed-up bass, too.

-Hang You from the Heavens (partial)
-Treat Me Like Your Mother
-I Cut like a Buffalo (partial)

i heard the first single on the radio and i loved it! i didn't know who it was but once i found out it all made sense. sounds like raw swamp blues crossed with garage rock and a bit of alternative thrown in. makes sense jack white is involved. loved the singer. jack white can be a polarizing figure but as i appreciate old delta blues more and more every day i see him as someone who wears his influences proudly on his sleeve. i admire that.

Amen - bump, bump! Jack White is the real deal, and I really admire how he has branched out. His bloodlines are infused with Memphis Lightning.

Mix between the White Stripes and the Kills? No way, how did you come to that conclusion?

I've never been a fan of Jack White. His music seems so... canned. To me at least. Plus he's whiney.

Never heard of them before a couple days ago, but saw they had an upcoming show in Montreal soon and went to hear a couple tunes.

I will definitely be there on 07/21 !

I bought some of their stuff on iTunes recently. Very fun to play along to (on drums anyway). Jack is excellent.

I'm wondering why Jack White is considered a genius. Not a troll here, but everything I hear from him sounds "done before". All his bands come off as retro to me.

Troll! Troll!

Opinions are something everyone is entitled to. I do think White is a genius, as his music is a totally different genre than anything else. Have you heard Iggy Thump!?

Plus, retro is the shizzit to me.

Kinda cool. I really like the bass fuzzy stuff, and the songs definitely have a bit of a catchy sound to them.

Definitely a good band. Its the same bass player he had with him for the Racontuers (Jack Lawrence I think). Jack White is definitely genius IMHO.
