Not me. I dig the new Metallica though. Wouldn't care if AC/DC or GnR (Axl) stopped making music. No album is worth waiting 15 years for either.

Though I'm not a GNR mach II fan, did you really wait 15 years? Couldn't you find something else to do in the meantime?

Geez, nothing like a GNR thread to expose the posers

Having heard a few songs from Chinese Democracy I can say that on my list of albums I can hardly wait for, it rates just below a new Fred Durst album.

Buying it first thing when it comes out, driving there and waiting, then playing it in my car.

Bad or not its been the longest wait for an album ever, needs listeing too.

And its not Guns n Roses, at least the real Guns N Roses. I have the bootlegs labeled under "New GNR" on my player

I listened to the whole thing today. I have to say, about 12 of the 14 songs were really really good. The guitar solos are amazing (nice mix of shred and emotive) and Axl's voice is terrifying. However Tommy Stinson's bass has nowhere near the presence of Duff's in this version of the band.

Can't wait to hear the album. I'll have to check it out once I get back from Russia on Monday.

I'm listening to the tracks on MySpace right now. I think I'd appreciate them better if they weren't under the Guns n' Roses name. This isn't Guns n' Roses. I actually like the industrial influences - industrial has some cool sounds I'd like to integrate into a hard rock context someday. However, this is not a Guns n' Roses album. It's too overproduced and not enough hard rock. Maybe that's because Axl is the only one from the original/"real" GnR left. I think I'll go listen to Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City, then put on some Velvet Revolver.

Im listening to the whole thing and Im pleasently suprised. Ill admit it isnt REALLY GnR anymore but its just a name. If you dont go into it wanting to hear Paradise City and all that all over again then it is pretty damn good overall.

The album is definately heas and shoulders above most of the crap being put out, thats for sure.

And if you dont care, why come in here and post? It makes as much sense as going into a Fender thread and saying, "They just havent been the same since (enter whatever vintage era you please)."

And the guitar work, AMAZING! In one of the songs you can hear a little funk, latin, and metal and sounds RIGHT. Props to Slash's replacement.

From what I heard on the radio, it's terrible. Axl is the white(r) Michael Jackson in terms of being out of touch with reality.

How is this GNR? Both music and line-up wise..

I think people would look at it more positively if the record was released under a different name. It's "listenable", but like I wouldn't change the radio station if it comes up listenable; not I may download a couple of songs from internet listenable.

Edit. This album has nothing in common either with black ice or death magnetic. Who came back, really This is more along the lines of Audioslave experiment. Other than that, AC/DC did manage to put out a solid record and I can appreciate Metallica's efforts

Hm... I like it.

As far as the production goes, it's MUCH more natural sounding than any of the Velvet Revolver stuff. Sure, there's a heavy production, but it doesn't suck the soul out of the songs like on some recent albums released lately that I could mention...

EDIT: Upon further listening, I might have to say that this is my favorite GnR album. Not that I was much of a fan to begin with, but this is outstanding. Methinks some people have too much wrapped up into the idea of what GnR should be, instead of accepting that Axl is doing some interesting work on his own.

YET ANOTHER EDIT: The guitar solos on this album are astonishing. Holy crap!

I'm about 5 songs into the myspace and I think it's kinda interesting to hear axl's voice again, but otherwise it's pretty terrible.

Not sure if it's better (maybe just a play on words?) than Slash but I dig the guitar work. The vocals sound great as they should after 14 years of studio work. I really don't care if the band is different. I'll be buying it tomorrow bright and early and catching a show if Axl doesn't pitch a fit and cancel everything. A lot of people seem intent on hating this album no matter what but it will sell big and produce some classic tracks.
