Devin Townsend - Ziltoid The Omniscient

Sign in to disble this ad
I just found out Devin Townsend will release his latest solo project this May. I'm a big fan of DTB and SYL, so I'm anxious to hear this one, especially since it's a 100% solo project and has a theme.

Any other DT fans excited about the new album?

Edit: album pushed to late June.

In case my username didn't give it away I'm a big SYL/DT fan. One of today's true musical geniuses IMO.

I hadn't heard about this, but it sounds cool- I love his big proggy works (Terria, Ocean Machine etc) and this seems like it might fit in quite well with them. Thanks for posting!

-edit- I just listened to all the tunes on the Myspace and this sounds awesome!

I like SYL and Ocean Machine, but haven't really gotten into his other stuff.

This can't have been pushed to late June, I got it today. It's amazing- if you like Ocean Machine you'll definitely like this, I think. Much better than his last couple of solo albums IMO.

I've yet to find a copy locally, but I'll get it when it comes out. Love the transmission vids on the myspace page.

It's on iTunes as well. I bought it few weeks ago and I think it's great. Devin does it again.

I personally think he is too innovative to really hold a steady audience. I am a fan, don't get me wrong, but his music is almost too broad.

His music is pretty innovative and diverse, but I can always recognize that tuning and crunch of his. Classic Dev.

What a cool and original album, I love it! Has to be played loud, of course, otherwise it just doesn't work...

Picked this album up last week, and damn, I love it. I've listened to it pretty consistently the whole last week.

Huge fan of dev in general, though I think I prefer his solo stuff to SYL though.
Anyone heard his first concept album Punky bruster?
Genius stuff
