DI and interface question

hi guys, im pretty new to recording so i have a few questions, i have this interface

and then i bought di.

Now i plugged my bass into the di and the di into the interface and it made no difference from when i plugged my bass straight into the interface. i was just wondering if i needed this di? or did i just need the interface and should return the di? id appreciate any advice. thanks guys

The interface has a DI built in. You don't need the other one.
