Thought that was pretty interesting. |
Oh, another book on Love! Man, "Forever Changes" is easily one of the greatest, most timeless rock records ever recorded! I had read someplace else that he used them on some of the record. From what I heard, the band was a mess and Bruce Botnick (producer) and Arthur Lee hired the Wrecking Crew to come in and they did "The Daily Planet" & "Andmoreagain" and Arthur called the band to the studio and made them watch the session and they became so upset that they got it together and the rest is history. Also, Neil Young was supposed to produce the album, but was too busy with Buffalo Springfield at the time.
I will look forward to checking this book out. Another excellent book is by the drummer, Michael Stuart-Ware. It is a fascinating read, but does not paint a particularly flattering picture of Arthur Lee, but does a great job of chronicling most of the band's history thru "Forever Changes". Here's a link to it on Amazon:

It looks like a new edition is due out in November of this year.
FWIW, could the following be one the most interesting verses in a rock song?:
"Oh the snot has caked against my pants
It has turned into crystal
There's a bluebird sitting on a branch
I guess I'll take my pistol
I've got it in my hand
Because he's on my land"
I'm thinking so!
Thanks for the "LOVEly" thread!,

LOL! My wife was just reading this post over my shoulder and said, "Stop ruining my surprises! I didn't think you knew about this and was getting it for your birthday!"
