The new Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds record is out now and it is funky. Martyn finally gets to stretch his bass muscle, his lines are the center of most of the songs. Awesome stuff. Anyone know if he's using flatwounds? It certainly sounds like it.

I'll have to look into this.

I feel a lot of Nick Cave's music was bass centered.

Its got a late 60's Booker T and the MG's vibe with the organ. Not George Clinton type funk.
Yeah his earlier stuff was real bass centered but in the last ten years the piano took the spotlight. Not on this album.

I think he had a great deal of fun with Grinderman, and he's expanding on that formula... either way, I really can't wait to hear this album.
