Friend of mine loaned me the cd. It was quite satisfying. I forgot how good it was. Extremely heavy. If ya dont have it, ya should go out and buy it. Its good.

I haven't listened to this album, but I do like Borgir. The bassist has an amazing voice.

| | | | I'm suprised on the last 2 albums they've gotten quite 'musical'. The new one is quite enjoyable.

| | | | Yea odd isn't it? I mean, as musical as it is, I'm suprised it is getting that much attention but I haven't heard much from the black metal masses claiming they sold out.

I really dig the evil keyboard lines in Chosen Legacy. mmmmm evil

you know, the first time i heard hellhammer's drumming, i wasn't impressed at all...when i found out that he was arcturus' drummer, i couldn't believe it was the same guy...now the guy's a behemoth...you can check out the serpentine offering and the sacriligious scorn on their website...i think you'll dig it |

it's funny you say that...to my knowledge, mustis is a diehard classical nut and doesn't even listen to black metal (or majestic melodic or whatever box you want to stick it in)...you're right though, he does come up with some wacked out keyboard parts, though...bach would be proud |

i can see your argument, there, knowing firsthand how norwegians are about their black metal...by their definition, though, if they found out that a guy from the united states thought that dimmu's first two albums were black metal, they would have to write dimmu off as having never been black metal at all by the same account, i can go to sam goody and pick up satyricon and dark funeral albums all day...what does that say? |

I hear classical influances all over on certain songs. The Serpentine Offering is a great example. The beginning reminds me so much of the music from Star Wars for some reason. I also had no idea Mustis was a classical nut and didnt listen to metal.

I really like Dimmu Borgir. Their newer stuff is very different from the earlier stuff, but it's still good. Just different. |
