Dirty Loops?!?!??!?!

So at first, I thought it was a joke.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnSJuD-h_nA

NOPE
These guys are absolutely ridiculous.

The singer sounds like freggin Stevie first of all,
The bassist just SLAYS it
and the drummer is solid as a rock.

Dammmnnnn. I want to hear more from these guys.

Yeah, I've seen videos of the bassist before. The guy looks utterly ridiculous, but his black painted fingers can really work the bass. Looks more like he'd be ripping out some solo's on a guitar in guitar center rather than laying some fat c-jazz groove. If I remember correctly, these guys are from Finland or someplace in Scandinavia. I have a hard time concentrating on the videos, but I'd love to get a hold of some Mp3's.

I've been sitting here scrolling through videos of them on the tube. He's an amazing bass player. Obviously I'm not to keen on his personal style of appearance, but I don't want to be shallow and judge the guy off that. He has amazing skill and will probably be in the scene his whole life. Before the night is over, I'll probably try to find some of their music to download (legally of course!) I like their groove and their experimental meets c-jazz style.

Well, it's a video; lots of 'em are like that. At some point those guys layed down that tune and it sounds damn good to me.

They're from stockholm, sweden, singer/pianists name is Jonah Nilsson, drummer is Aaron Mellengårdh and bassist Henrik Linder. They play live in the aforementioned video, with a Logic backtrack running, with background choir and keys. Which usually is how they play live. Probably studied at the royal music academy in Stockholm, since it's where the video is recorded, and, yeah, well... They know their chops.

It's good to see some youngsters doing this stuff, groove, harmony, and arrangements.
I hope there's much more to come from these guys.

Well, dayum, as they say!

It's an awful, crying shame that commercial radio plays so much garbage and there's stuff like this that gets hardly any attention at all.

Radio is not your friend.

Not in Nashville, it doesn't...

Playlists are very limited even on the independent stations.

edit: Just noticed you're from the UK. Probably very different there.

One of my students showed me some of their music. What a great band-ridiculous musicianship! There's hope from this generation of whippersnappers after all!

These guys are recording a record right now. They have got Andreas Carlsson as à manager. He have written many hitsongs for Celine Dion, Bon Jovi and many more.
A little curiosa, the singer, Jonah was in swedish Idol but didn't get that far in that comptition. Amazingly. Great band and I can't wait til their record gets released.
