Dirty Loops

Yeah...'been being amazed by their stuff since it first came out. 'So great to see guys who can really play that are using their talents to their fullest potential to (hopefully) pull pop music out of the grave of auto-tuned singers and manufactured musicians.

Hi Gary! Great to see a Nashville A Team guy here! Yep, between Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner and these guys it's been a good Bass Week. Feeling optimistic about the State of the Bass (and Art) in 2011.

I love to be proven wrong: at first, I thought "oh dear lord, what a weirdo..." but then he killed it on bass.
His double thumb video is sweet!

just felt like bumping this thread because a student wanted to learn these bass parts the other day and turned me back on to them.

its really a simple idea that we all do- get together great players, and arrange pop tunes that will appeal to the idiots that like the original, as well as everyone else because they're pumping musicality into it. these cats do it really well though.

i'd buy their record. they should put one out.

And they've got Lee Ritenour and Jay Graydon as fans... as well as the people who wrote Circus for Britney. The future looks pretty bright for 'em I'd say.

I love the idea that so many people (myself included) would look at that bass player and think, "yeah, right" - only to then have their jaws hit the floor in dismay! Those guys are heavy!

Work of Art

Here's Henrik in a video with Swedish band Work of Art!

The band has no bass player so Henrik and I shared the bass duties on the album. Fantastic guy!!!

The comments about Henrik's looks are unecesssary. Rockstars have worn eyeliner, black nail polish and crazy hair since the sixties. Henrik Linder looks like a rockstar AND he is a badass musician.

Amen to that. Get over yourselves, people.

Been following these cats for a while now! Frikkin' incredible! Can't wait for the cd!

I didn't have an issue with the bassists' style but thought it was a girl at first! I was like 'damn, this chick can play her @$$ off"!

These guys are incredible. Real musicians playing real music. What a concept. Is it really all about the dollar bill (profitability) or it is about creating musicial art? The state of radio today is just sad with its sequenced music being forced upon its listeners and presented as "music". To them, when "real" music comes along, it is what? "too hard for listeners to comprehend", it is automatically shunned by radio stations' program managers (real music doesn't generate profits???!!!). As Aaron of Dirty Loops (drummer) once said, " "hey, we're on to so much knowledge and the music industry won´t let us use it in a creative way." And right there, the idea of Dirty Loops was created.

Amen. Play on brothers, play on.

I have a feeling they won't NEED a record company to acheive their goals! And I bet the record companies will come a knockin'! They'll want a piece of this!
