I am hoping their cd is all original material which I think it will be! I don't think it will be a fusion record due to the keyboardist's vocal abilities (which is well above anything we're hearing on the radio).
I say give them a chance! I think the videos are just show pieces. Yeah, they have chops for days but they are not as sterile as a lot of the stuff I hear from Japan where it's all chops and no soul, IMHO! They have something to offer and I'm listening! |

| | | these guys are amazing, really a great exploration this year,
very rich voice, reminds me on stevie, this kid on the bass, well, estunishing and such a solid drummer. Very good spirit, although they do fun arrangements on crappy songs, they do it on very very high level and i honor this so much. They made me happy, also this maniac I found today on the net , Vizvari Robert his name, a crazy gooooood playin dude, check him out. Fantastic skills, sexy groove and great musician Eugene Botos project and Eric Marienthal-bass solo(tribute to level 42) - YouTube
great musician |

Doesn't "not as sterile" = just a bit sterile? Just thinking out loud.
Anyway, I certainly wouldn't write off their potential to do something a bit special in the future. They have at least one of the ingredients to do so. I'll keep watching with interest.

That's more than just chops. The guy has a serious jazz vocabulary.
I'm just glad to see the future of music doesn't lie solely in the hands of marginally talented pop singers, and rock bands doing the same tired thing that's been done a million times already.

Finally - a band I'm excited about. I wonder why they don't have a guitar player? Yeah, I know - they're great as they are, but guitar would be cool as well. I hope they are very successful. I will buy their record as soon as it's out for sure. I can't even name a band that I like at this time. John Mayer was the last "new" artist I liked. I can't even listen to pop radio - there's no good music anymore. I tried listening to KIIS FM recently ( So Cal station ) and I couldn't take even 1 minute of the crap. Watched the recent music awards and it's all crap. LMFAO - ***? Not only do we have auto tuned idiots, now DJs are musicians/singers? Gimmee a f-ing break. To me, Dirty Loops shows that there is hope for the music business. |

Just wanted to pop in and say "Give it another chance", is all. Sorry if I came off that way.

Because everybody these days is reharmonizing top 40 tunes, playing them with amazing chops and killer grooves?
I wonder if we're hearing the same things.... |
