It's been posted and there's another current thread about them. Some dig it and some don't! I personally like them a lot. They are working on a cd.

Oooooops I see there's a thread already started for these guy's.

I've been on TalkBass too long, so you would think I knew to do a search before starting a post. Ya know.

Here is a lesson from my website Gregori Hofmann | Bass Guitarist & Teacher on the first 30 seconds of the dirty loops cover of justin bieber's 'baby'. A lot of people have been asking for it and I think what these guys are doing is insane so it was good to try and learn some of these bass parts.

This is part 1 and I'm focusing on the intro which is the same as the chorus and the main verse groove. Next time we can take a look at the breakdown and later on the rest of the tune.

If you enjoy the lesson please feel free to take a look at my website Gregori Hofmann | Bass Guitarist & Teacher where there are over 100 free bass lessons

I am really interested in what you guys characterize this band as.

I mean, what style?

For me, they sound like Fourplay mixed with Jamiroqui, but better. Definitely more focused then jamiroquia,.

They are great musicians!
I just don't dig the bass sound, it's so farty - not my cup of tea.

Totally awaiting a cd of their own material...or a cd with cooler covers.

I don't hear the Fourplay thing...the 1st time I heard Jamiroquia, I thought their singer sounded like Stevie Wonder. People have commented that the Dirty Loops singer sounds like Stevie...so I get that.

While the aesthetic has many contemporary elements, the essence of their style is fusion. Jazz-rock, to be more specific.
