I reluctantly joined a party band back in March this year. My playing background prior to this was heavier rock/pop rock... And then a stint in a DMB/Rusted Root/Phish-type cover thing. A jam band. I was NOT the disco type, and was adamant...

Now that I'm settled, I LOVE it. The grooves are kick-ass. I swear I'm turning blacker by the day. I got the rhythm!!!!

Seriously though, the songs may be cheesy, but they've got some of the finest bass lines of all time! I'm a convert.

Just as a player, I'd suggest to everyone to learn some disco stuff. Diversity is a godsend, TB'ers!!!!

I play in a 14 piece disco band. We do funk, soul, and R&B too, but it is all dance music. You may not like disco, but it sells. People love it. We pack clubs and get plenty of wedding and corporate gigs. I think it is a lot of fun to play.
