Don Ross - wicked funky 'guitarist'

Ok - he's a guitarist - but I really want to recommend Don Ross because he's so good at highly-syncopated solo acoustic guitar it's quite inspiring from a 'solo' performace perspective and one that doesn't involve lots of noodly notes...anyway Steve Lawson hipped me to him a while ago, and Michael Manring's just been touring with him (Ross uses a lot of alternate tunings too) - so if you like what they do then there'll be some stuff here you'll like as well - he seems like a bit of a dude as well (and he looks like the old, 'fat version, of Peter Jackson, before the diet):

Very funky tune:

+1 Huron Street and Passion Session are GREAT CD's... inspiring playing. He's kind of the 'Martin Taylor' of non-jazz guitar!

Great playing. He's definitely not cheating the basslines.
