Donna Lee - multi-bass version

At the risk of being shot down in flames here's my attempt at finally recording a version of this much-maligned bass anthem - but hey, I just wanted to give it a try. Thanks for your indulgence.

(I double tracked the head - one part is an octave higher - the solo is panned in stereo - I used Ableton Live 5 exclusively)

Cheers

Mike

(PS this dedicated to my friend Ian Carr - the great Miles Davis biographer/trumpeter - I just saw him today and he dug this)

It's just my Jeff Chapman custom fretless 5 going direct into my laptop via a Tascam US-122 - I just got a Mackie Onyx Satellite but for some reason this bass proved very 'noisy' when I went through that - so the Tascam saved the day. The bass has a really great tone on its own - I added a small amount of compression and a smidge of EQ - but not much.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback - it's really appreciated.

Mike
