Doug Wimbish on Late Night w/ Lauryn Hill

I was watching Lauryn Hill on Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon last night. I didn't pay much attention during the 1st tune.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Ms. Lauryn Hill: Chances Are (5/12/11) - Video - NBC.com

During the 2nd performance, I noticed that there were 2 bassists- one playing a j-bass through an SVT and another playing a Spector through a Trace... that got me thinking, Doug Wimbish plays a rig like that... then I realized, that is Doug Wimbish!

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Ms. Lauryn Hill: Could You Be Loved (5/12/11) - Video - NBC.com

There isn't anything revolutionary here, I just thought it was cool that 1) DW was playing on late night tv w/ Lauryn Hill, and 2) there were two bassist.

Note- Not sure if this should be a Recordings or Bassists thread.

It looked like Wimbish was doing more coloring and effects-based stuff and the other bassist was playing the bassline (on the second tune, at least). Couldn't really tell, though.

That's pretty much what he was doing. Being very synth/keyboardish like, while still be a bass player.

I was just talking with Doug yesterday about this very subject.
