Any other fans check this one out yet? I think it's a pretty solid album all the way through - my favorite yet. Rex sounds fantastic as expected as does the rest of the band. It actually sounds like DOWN with its own style instead of bits and pieces of each members' respective band - definite Sabbath, Trower, and COC influence though and not so much this time of Pantera/Crowbar/Eyehategod that I could detect. They all still comes through at times though. Gotta have love for 'em reinventing their own styles.

Damn Good album I think rex sounded better on down 2. Phils voice and lyrics seem different a little more toned down. The band sounds very tight can't wait to see them next week.

Oh yeah, this album slams! I haven't put it down yet. I'm a big fan of Down and the rest of the bands involved. This is the face of southern metal!

The first two albums I thought were alright, but I listened to some tracks off this new one and it just has no fire, no passion. Highly disappointing.

If you only heard the tunes on their myspace page then yeah, I know what ya mean cuz I thought the same thing. BUT, check out "Pillamyd", "Three Suns and One Star", and "Nothing in Return" - they might change your opinion if you haven't heard 'em yet. At least in my own, those three tracks right there make the album worth while.

I liked Rex's tone on Down II just a hair more too - I think there's a TON more midrange and treble on this album. Might just be trying to compensate for the crunchier guitars and trying to cut through better. But the bass lines on this album definitely show his experience and set him apart from all the others.
