For the drone doom fans, my new project

Well, this is the project I've been talking about for weeks, and now at least it's not self talk anymore. Check out my first track at http://www.myspace.com/lastdarknessmetal. I'm hosting at myspace until I presumably get enough popularity to justify hosting it on a website. Anyways, let me know what you think especially if you're familiar with the genre or other Southern Lord-ish material.

Definatly fits the bill of Southern Lord Material, I dig it, but stuff like this isn't overly my bag. The tracks are similar to each other too, due to the fact that it is the same setup. The whole, look how evil bass can sound alone, thing is cool, but, I don't know. It does have a cool minimalist vibe, but it would be interesting to hear other interacting elements.

Thanks for the input Matt. They sound similar but are the first two demos persay. I'm working on some other stuff also so it doesn't sound completely redundant.

Well, first of all, I like your tone, but as a whole, it lacks something. Bands like Sunno))) do 20 minute songs, but they work with vocals to keep it interesting. Maybe do something with effects and your voice?
Second, I like the distortion, but there's not enough delay on the bass, so the bass doesn't start droning, it just stops at a certain point. When your bass really drones, you can start working with layers, adding different sounds etc.

Nevertheless, keep us posted

Thanks for the constructive feedback. Yeah, I decided after sitting on both the demos, that that'll be as far as I go into that style of playing (though that was fun). What I'm thinking now is that I still have the bug to play progressive metal, which has been impossible in Chicago (unless you consider post-hair metal to be progressive). It won't be right away, but I'm going to attempt two different areas of playing, one being with a drum machine and some way of covering guitar riffs, and the other being riffing with the bass guitar and adding a kick drum or something for percussion. Either way, the next demos should be different.
