Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys!

I've recently discovered and awesome band from NZ called Fat Freddy's Drop and I'm looking for more artists that are similar in style, anyone have any recommendations? I know you guys will, you always lead me in the right direction to quality music!

Thanks!

Easy Star All-Stars, the idea may seem like a novetly, but Dub Side of the Moon is a great album

I only just listened to one of Fat Freddy's Drop so I'm not too familiar with their sound. I'll throw some stuff your way and you can tell me what you like and what you don't like (most are not "bands", but hey).

Anything produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry including most of the early Wailers sides is golden. He just got weirder as time went on, which I enjoy.

Check out Bad Brains, who were really more of a hardcore band who would segue into dub to chill the punkers out before driving them into a frenzy again.

Fat Freddy's Drop is one of my favorite bands; I was a bit tripped out when I found out they have no rhythm section! The music is fantastic though, well produced and arranged. You might like the Black Seeds too, another NZ band with a similar style.
