Hey, for all you folks that like the doom/drone stylings of Earth you should check out their new album "Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light. It kills! That is if you're into that type of music. I love it. You can hear it for free in it's entirety at www.npr.org/series/98679384/first-listen. Hope you enjoy.

Wow, thanks. Listening. Love the first track. Kinda cowboy drone or something. Sick.

Great music, not out yet but this got leaked a few weeks ago. It's officially coming out at the end of the month (Feb)

If you like it, please buy the CD, LP or DL

Anyway, it's really good....if you liked Bees Made Honey In The Lions Skull and/or Hex, Printing In The Infernal Method.... then you'll like this and if you like this check out the 2 I just mentioned.

As much as I love the direction Dylan has gone in, I hope we haven't heard the last of the heavy riffing ala Earth 2 and Pentastar.

Also, check this out...this is also available on DVD as part of the Hibernaculum CD

Enjoy!

Indeed. We need to support the artists whose work we enjoy.

Right on. I am excited to hear this. The Bees Made Honey is one of my favorite albums from the past couple of years. Hex is also great of course.

For those who haven't heard recent Earth albums, I don't know how to accurately describe them They are deep and droney, but remind me of what a group of aliens might come up with if they were trying to replicate the soundtrack to an old Spaghetti Western film.

It's about the most perfect music I can think of for driving all alone in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere through some desolate terrain if you want to creep yourself out a little.

I do love the early stuff as well. Earth 2: Specal Low Frequency Version is a classic in some circles. Bands like Sunn0))) wouldn't exist if it hadn't been recorded.

I'm glad to see a little Earth lovin' on this forum. Hopefully I will see them in April and I look forward to see what they play. The Live Hex: album shows that they will rake up older numbers.

Listening to the NPR first listen I have to wonder how much compression is added here. At the moment though it sounds like really good new Earth in the post-Bees style and that cello is really good. I was never the biggest fan of the Rhodes piano they had at some points and actually I didn't mind the trombone work so much on some of their cuts.

Hey no problem drastic. I love how music can be so relatively simple yet so complex.
